Lake Havasu City 2015

Our second vacation of the summer was a trip to visit my Grandparents in Lake Havasu, AZ. We went a couple of years ago and had such a great time with them. This year we were joined by my sister and her family. It was a few days of sugared up kids and sunscreen, just like my childhood.

My handsome nephew Gabriel. Those eyes.

The kids were kept entertained by hunting down a lizard. It was actually quite impressive they finally caught him. My niece Annabelle was especially proud.

Swim, snack, watch cartoons. That's the life!

We ate In-N-Out 3, possibly 4 times. I don't remember, it was all a big huge Double Double blur; delicious, fried blur.

We had the **best** time ever getting from Lake Havasu to the lovely city of Las Vegas. We had planned on having my Grandpa take us into Vegas to catch our flight. Well.......that didn't happen due to a car issue (the car literally stopped working in the middle of the road) so we had to hunt down a car rental. Turns out I ended sitting on the floor for two and a half hours while being kicked in the face by Caleb. Good times, real good times.

That lovely car ride was then followed up by a romantic walk around the streets of Las Vegas with all four of our innocent children. To be fair, it wasn't all bad. We bought M&Ms at the factory.

Caleb did horrible on the plane, more good times. Needless to say e were glad to get home, but so happy to get time to spend with my Grandparents. Especially after losing James Gramps, we needed some time with them.

And now the school year begins!

Whirlwind Vacations {Nebraska to Colorado}

This has been the craziest summer yet. We are living with another family of 6, and when we're not home we've been on the road traveling.

Our biggest road trip yet happened a few weeks ago.

We first traveled to Nebraska to lay James' Grandpa to rest. He died on June 25th, his 84th birthday. The world lost an amazing man that day, but Heaven gained an amazing man of God. We were so, very close with him; his loss is really hard for our family. I'll be sure to post more on what he meant to us later.

He had two funeral services, one here in CO and the other in his hometown of Brady, NE. The family decided to celebrate his life as a superstar athletic trainer by wearing red (his favorite color, based on his favorite team the Huskers) tennis shoes. He would have loved it.

After the service in NE we headed to Kansas City for the 4th of July festivities, and visited World's of Fun on the way. It's always such a great time to play on the water and spend time with the cousins.

We had no idea who this unusually tall man was; naturally we asked to take a photo with him.

James' uncle's house is on this lake, and this is their yard. Oh my word!! His aunt designed their backyard and it's pretty much my kinda paradise!

Both of the boys got up on their first try at knee boarding, it was adorable!

We then headed back to CO to drop off my kids with my parents and then headed to Breckenridge, CO for a little r&r with James. I read two books in a row, 2 BOOKS!! It's amazing what can happen when kids are not interrupting you every 2 seconds.

We got to spend 2 days in Breck with my sister and her husband, and we played giant Jenga and shuffle board and ate tapas and drank martinis, it was fabulous!

Me and my sister. Yes, we are biologically related. Yes, we have the same parents.  She told me I looked Armenian in this photo.

This is her very non-Armenian husband, Sean.

This was just the beginning of our vacations. More to come later.
